C45 carbon steel is harder than the stainless used in most grooming tools and holds an edge noticeably longer. In exchange it asks for one habit: wipe it dry after contact with water, and it will outlast several stainless pairs.

It comes in a genuine leather case — handmade, and the reason the instrument survives being carried in a bag rather than sitting in a drawer.

Dry the instrument after contact with water and return it to its case. Stainless steel resists corrosion but is not immune to it, and standing moisture dulls an edge faster than actual use.

The instrument can be sterilised. A forged edge holds its cut for years of regular use; when it finally softens, any competent sharpening workshop can reset it.
